2015 Employer Annual Reporting Form Reminder
The deadline for the 2015 Employer Annual Reporting Form is approaching! Please note the deadline has been extended from Saturday, April 30th to Monday, May 2nd, 2016.
Employers covered by the Health Care Security Ordinance (HCSO) or the Fair Chance Ordinance (FCO) must submit the 2015 Employer Annual Reporting Form by midnight on May 2nd, 2016 or be subject to penalties of $500 per quarter.
If you have already submitted the form, please disregard this reminder.

New Director of the Office of Labor Standards Enforcement
On April 20, 2016, Mayor Edwin M. Lee announced the appointment of Patrick Mulligan as Director of the Office of Labor Standards Enforcement (OLSE). Mayor Lee noted that Patrick Mulligan is a proven leader who works “tirelessly on behalf of San Francisco families.” See Mayor Lee’s press notice here.
New Paid Parental Leave Ordinance
The Paid Parental Leave for Bonding with New Child Ordinance (“Paid Parental Leave Ordinance” or “PPLO”) was passed on the second reading by the San Francisco Board of Supervisors on April 12, 2016 and signed by Mayor Lee on April 21, 2016. It becomes operative on January 1, 2017.
Employer phase in:
- Employers with 50 or more employees are required to comply beginning on
January 1, 2017.
- Employers with 35 or more employees are required to comply beginning on
July 1, 2017.
- Employers with 20 or more employees are required to comply beginning on
January 1, 2018.
